"I was sent to Lisa by my chiropractor after several years of recurring lower back pain, which had affected my ability to run and do yoga regularly. Lisa identified my problem instantly and worked therapeutically initially, slowly strengthening my core muscles which were very under developed despite years of various forms of exercise. My back has long been fixed and a year later I am still going to Pilates twice weekly. As a form of exercise it has fundamentally changed my life. Over the past year I have developed a core strength that impacts me positively, both physically and emotionally. Lisa has been an essential part of my journey. Her in-depth knowledge, her attention to detail and her genuine care are exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending her as a professional and expert practitioner."
"I first went to Lisa for advice on a small running injury which wouldn't go away. She put her Biokinetics to work, and identified the muscles which needed strengthening in order to correct my running gait. Within weeks my injury had disappeared, and my running times started improving. I was hooked! From Biokinetics we moved onto Pilates to start strengthening my core and glutes. In the year that Lisa and I have been working together, I have seen major changes - I've cut 10min off my 21K running time, my overall strength has doubled, I've lost about 4kg and toned ALOT! Thanks Lisa - you've taught me that hard work does have its rewards!"
"I constantly had lower back pain and had to go to a Chiropractor at least twice a month. The Chiropractor suggested that I start Pilates and recommended that I go to Lisa to help me sort out my lower back condition. Lisa used her knowledge in both Pilates and Biokinetics to assess what was causing the problem and put together a specialised routine together for my specific condition. We mainly focus on strengthening my core muscles and improving my range of movement as well as my flexibility. I have been going to Lisa for about 18 months now and I no longer have chronic back pain. Lisa’s sessions have improved my quality of life and I would recommend her (and have recommended her) to anyone who struggles with a similar condition to myself."
"I consulted with Lisa as part of my training and preparation for a three week hike to Everest Base Camp.
Many years ago I had broken my back and leg which resulted in me being unable to walk for more than 2 km at a time. On the hike I needed to walk up to 20km a day with a 10kg backpack.
I found her to be accurate in pin pointing what my particular problems were and giving the appropriate exercise to remedy them. Her guidance and input most definitely assisted me during my period in the mountains. I did not suffer any back pains or fatigue, such I had encountered previously under far less rigorous exercise."
"I was referred to Lisa Bain by my chiropractor when numerous visits to him with complaints about my lower back and pelvis did not seem to sort out my problem. He recommended her because of her specialisation in Biokinetics and lower back rehabilitation and I have been seeing her for almost 6 months now. I have had 2 pregnancies – both fit and healthy, but during the second pregnancy I had a lot of pain in my sacro iliac joint and my baby was heavy so she put a lot of extra pressure on my pelvis. I also fell off a horse about 10 years ago and this also affected the stability of the joint.
When I started seeing Lisa, I had a lot of stiffness in the sacro iliac joint and a lot of pain in my right heel. I initially saw her twice a week and the exercises that she started me on immediately had an impact – when I had to get up in the middle of the night to go to my baby I could walk down the passage instead of hobbling! The exercises included a lot of strengthening of the muscles around the sacro iliac and lower back. I feel stronger and have better balance and a lot of the stiffness and pain has gone. With my heel Lisa thought it could be plantar fasciitis or possibly a heel spur and at one point that there was a problem with my Achilles tendon. I now only see Lisa every second week and the exercises have really changed things for me. I no longer have any pain in my heel and my pelvic and lower back pain is negligible. I am very grateful to have found such an effective solution to the problem and have really enjoyed working with Lisa."
"I started seeing Lisa, as a Biokineticist when I experienced discomfort and pain in my ankles when running. She assessed me and devised an individual program to strengthen my body where it needed it the most. I then, on Lisa’s recommendation, started Pilates with her and this is what I have found to be the most beneficial. By getting me into a proper routine of stretching and strengthening, my muscles are looser and my running more comfortable. Lisa is incredibly dedicated to the health and welfare of her patients and will go to lengths to find a scenario that works for you as an individual. She has a lovely "bedside manner" and a true love and passion for her work. She is a one of a kind in the medical profession and an asset to anyone who chooses to see her."
