In today’s world there is a growing movement towards optimal health and wellness, indeed a trend towards preventative medicine. We are encouraged and even rewarded for healthy behaviour by our medical aids and employers. However this clashes with our reality of hours spent desk bound, sitting in the car or in front of the computer or television every day. Our bodies were not designed for this inactivity so poor posture, inefficient movement habits and muscle imbalances result.
We land up with weak glutes and core abdominal muscles, rounded shoulders, a forward head position, neck and shoulder tension; upper and lower back pain, headaches and recurring sporting injuries.
Click here to see how Biokinetics and Pilates can help with these common conditions as well as many others.
